There are many decisions that you will need to make after a death in the family and when planning for the funeral service. Here are some general guidelines:
1. Meet with a funeral director to assist in the preparations.
2. You will need to know where and to gather documents such as the will (if one existed, and social security information.
3. Know what your budget will be for the funeral service.
There will be a whirl of emotions to deal with as well and it might be best to have a close friend or family member assist you with sorting through important decisions to make sure you understand all there is to do.
