As a loan processor I can say no. The mortgage industry is still knee jerking from last years downturn. Lender guidelines, if anything, are becoming more strigent than ever. FHA recently raised it manatory middle fico requirement to 620 from 580.
Now this fico requirement varys from lender to lender, I've heard some banks still accept the 580 mid fico. If you have need of a lender for poor credit I would advise that you seek counsel with a mortgage broker. A broker can better inform you of options available in your area.
