How many people created their first website on Geocities?
Today marks the end of an era - Geocities is closing down for good. Many years ago when I first started surfing I created my first website on Geocities - I've become a bit more sophisticated since, but Web 2.0 sites like Hubpages and Squidoo have really made it easier to create decent sites and therefore Geocities slowly died! Did you create your first website on Geocities?

I did! Way back, years ago! I was still in High school. I wanted to show my friends the pictures I took with my webcam - I was the coolest kid in school because I had a webcam :) lol I had no isea that you could even earn money online, I thought I had to be super rich to own my own dot.com so I went for Geocites! Great! The site dissappeared over the years though :(

Yes I did!
At the time I was living in France. Much of what was on that site was like a journal of my life back then... and so much has happened since - so many major life changes!
I had to copy the site recently and save it on my pc - not only because of the 'sentimental' content, but it had a lot of interesting stuff on there that I am hoping to re-publish elsewhere...
