How do I tell which social bookmarking sites are best for promoting my blogs?
There are so many, it's overwhelming. I want to know how to identify the ones that will work best for me.

My own experience is that you may get a little flourish of traffic from a social bookmarking site such as stumbleupon, digg or twitter but that's about it. If you're active at facebook then sharing your links there will help. I've found that content sharing sites are much better for promotion. Here's a list:
