Timing of my articles - it is worthwhile to hold until the "correct season"?
I just asked this question under general Q&A - but you are probably the most capable of answering. I am new. Just wrote an article about the Super Bowl which will air the end of January.

It depends very much on the nature of the article. If you're writing evergreen pieces that will be relevant (to use your example) for every Super Bowl, then publishing it now will give it a chance to build up some momentum, get back links, etc., so come January you should be well placed to collect the upturn in seasonal traffic as soon as it begins.
If the article is more news orientated and relates to this season only, releasing it much nearer the actual event can lead to an increased possibility of news synidication.
Hope that makes sense and is useful.

My initial thought was to wait until the right season because trends really go up around that time. But then again, the same article may gain traction and pick up more traffic closer to that date. You may find that your traffic goes up during the actual season though, regardless of whether you wrote the article now or then. Right now I don't see as reason to 'hold off' on writing anything, because it's always going to be online, someone else here may have some different views. Thanks for sending me this question, I hope I answered it adequately.

You may as well publish them as soon as done.
When you publish, you will get an initial flurry of views from a few Hubbers.
BUT, if it is a good article that targets good keywords, you will get MUCH MORE traffic to it, over time, from Google, etc.
So, you may as well get it published, so that when the season comes around, Google will have indexed it, and searchers for appropriate keywords will find your article.
