Would you put your 17 year old child out of the house if they were threatening members of the family
What if your adolescent is acting out and refuses to conform to rules?

Thanks for your responses. This is not a personal situation, thank God, but I see the pain and confusion in the hearts of parents who must consider such an option. This is usually after every resource has been exhausted.
The sad thing is that sometimes these young people have real problems gone undiagnosed. These may include ADD / ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Other psychiatric disorders like anxiety or mood disorders, learning disabilities among other issues.
Of course, there are those that are plain rebellious, has no respect for authority nor any respect for consequences.
This is another form of domestic violence tht many families are enduring and must weigh the risk to other members of the household vs that of the troubled troublemaker.

I'm a teenager my-self and I know if I ever did something not by the rules my parents will kick me out of the house. I never ever even though about threatening any of my family members but I know if I ever had I would be living on the street right now.

There are cases when you should....threats of violence should be taken seriously. And, if the threats are against you than you really need to act.
Our society has gone down in that children do not have the same respect for adults as in other generations. For some reason, the children believe that they should have their way no matter what the consequences are to other people.
Because you had to ask that question, you probably have a sense in your spirit that this kid is capable of carrying out the threats they have made. This being the case you need to ship him or her to grandma's, the military, their Uncle George or Job Corps...15 years ago I would have told you to put the fear of God and the fear of you in their heart.....hmmmm, You know what? That still may be an option....
Love ya
