Did anyone find a way to completely remove yourself from Facebook and delete all references?

Hi! I have a friend who deactivated her facebook acct. 2 months ago and did it successfully, her name (my friend's) doesn't show up / searchable anymore after 24hours she deleted her account. Mybe the best thing that you could do is to email them and ask them to really trash all your details. Hope this helps, goodluck!

Delete everything that facebook allows. Go back through any groups you have joined first and delete all your posts. Remove you administration posts if relevant and finally, set all your privacy setting to the highest security. There may be some traces on other peoples profiles that you cannot delete but these will only be cached for a short period. I regularly have my profile cache cleared by facebook automatically because I post a lot. Hope that helps.

maudine_05, thanks for your reply to this question. Facebook does not answer emails. I wonder if your friend found a different email address that she used. They also don't answer their phone with a live attendant. It says to press zero for an operator, but that just rings forever.

Bovine Currency, thank you to you too. I actually don't have much on my account. I created it once, and before I used it much, I started getting tons of friend requests from people I didn't know. Thta is why I want to get rid of it. When I discovered I can't remove my profile, I tried changing my name and location, but they don't accept those changes.
