* Take Advantage of the BOGOF offers. Buy one get one free.
* Buy in Bulk.
* Stick to your shopping list, otherwise some nice products will wink at you and before you know it - you've gone out of budget.
* Try the shop brands or cheaper brands. E.g Baked beans doesn't have to always be Heinz. Choose the supermarket brand. For those who like Bailey's, try Irish Cream. Saves you about £5(well, if ur in UK)
* Don't use a Credit card, othewise you defeat the objective of saving.

The top 5 ways to save other than coupons are:
1. Make a shopping list-shopping list is not what you want to buy but what you need and will need. What you dont have, put on the shopping list. Then, you prioritize your list.
2. buy items in bulk. buying a bulk of mac and cheese for $2.00 is cheaper than buying single mac and cheese for $.50 times 5.
3. buying on sales and compare. If the item is on sale, compare to the other item, which one will stay longer so you dont end up throwing the item in the trash and buy another one. Buying one time is saver than buying two times.
4. make time-do not shop in a hurry because you will end up missing item or getting the wrong and expensive item. shop after a meal or snack so you wont graving while shopping.
5. rain check- if they dont carry the item, ask for a raincheck, If no raincheck go to another store. They could carry for the same amount or less. Just dont buy the next thing up when you know you could get it nextdoor with the less price.
ok i hope this answers your questions. This is challenging too. I just put what i do when going shopping.

1. Pick what stores to go to. Some stores charge more for the same product. Aldi, for example, buys a lot of generic stuff in bulk, which makes prices on most things significantly cheaper. Farmer's markets also often have cheaper produce because the food is local and the middle man has been cut out.
2. Make use of a frequent shopper card, if available. Stores like Kroger and Giant Eagle have frequent shopper cards, which will often get you discounts per shopping trip, as well as points to use for other things, such as fuel discounts.
3. Buy generic when feasible. I don't just buy generic to buy generic, though. Look at the ingredients. Sometimes, generics will have a lot more preservatives or filler, but in many cases, they'll be exactly the same as your name brand item. When that's the case, buy the generic.
4. Don't go hungry. Going shopping while hungry increase the chance that you'll make impulse buys. Grab a bite to eat before you shop, to prevent that.
5. Buy only what you need. If you're strapped for cash, don't go after that pack of Starbucks Frappucino or that extra sirloin steak. Get just what you need.
