I really need to get to bed now, school in the morning (bleugh) but as soon as i saw this question, I kinda felt the need to answer it for myself more than anything. Just out of pure curiosity.
So, here are my ways to stay motivated and on task when working on homework:
Firstly, don't be tempted to sign onto any social networking sights. I know this seems obvious but facebook is my downfall everytime I have something huge to turn in!
Next, get some good music blasting out those speakers. Something that puts you in a good mood, even if it irritates you at first.
Keep warm.
EAT. It feels like its distracting you but if you take breaks to get the food, you'll have a fresh mind everytime you come back to work.
Don't try to do more than one homework at a time. Its really not as efficient as it may seem.
Start early and do a chunk everyday, not all on the night before it's due.
Thats about all i can think of right now.
Adios,
Annit

Focus is different for everyone. Many think it is tunnel vision or a myoptic stare. I prefer the term, attention.
As a former teacher, I observed the students who did their work with commitment and ease while others struggled. Unanimously, the difference was the ability to read well.
1. Sharpen reading skills by reading for pleasure at least once a day. Engage with what you're reading, circle words to look up and make notes in the margin (sticky notes work well.)
2. Be curious about the topic. Sometimes we're just tired and mistake that for boredom.
3. Schedule your homework times. Have a separate calendar and mark your classes one week in advance. If you have advanced notice on due dates, chunk down the assignments—maybe it's 10 pages a day rather than 150 the night before an exam!
4. Be grateful you have access to an education, good or bad. We can learn even from the weirdest or worst people how not to be.
5. Remember, you are creating a memory and before you know it, you'll be 35 and this will look like a cake walk. It's called perspective.
I'd love to hear back from others. Thanks.
