this year's oscars will go ahead because not only does the academy and every one of its members make money off the awards and like receiving the awards the awards are the pinnacle of the so-called "best" films of each year. it's a matter of critique even though the academy awards have added 5 new films into their "best" picture list. they will still probably pick the 10 wrong films to get nominated. some years they are on par the others....like 2002's Chicago....are not.
