Is teen suicide a trend in a modern society?

Once ago, teen suicide was an occasional event but now, like teen homicide criminals, it seems to be on the increase. Is there a reason or is it media hype?

I wouldn't say it's a trend but a lot of teens need people to listen to them, talk to them and encourage them.

A lot are going through difficult times and don't know how to cope with it. It could be something like people taunting them, bullying them, sexual abuse, relationship gone wrong or they're just not happy within themselves.

There are teens that will not open up to you until you start asking direct questions. Those who don't talk, tend to let it build up inside, till it eats away at them, then their minds start to suggest all sorts and before you know it, they've killed themselves.

Trend??? If this is so something is really wrong with society as well as people and the choices they make. There is absolutely no way anyone can consider suicide trendy. It's not like you can make up your mind after finding out the trend you have decided to follow is dumb or a waste of time.

Maybe alot of teens are committing suicide because they don't see a way out of the mess that they are in. Real mentors don't exist anymore and if they do they are hard to find. So who do the teens turn to? Nine times out of ten no one can answer this neither can they
