What does it mean when your flat screen monitor starts to "shadow"?

My flat screen is working alright, only about 8 months old, but some text/icons/pictures have a line/block of pixels radiating to the right. Does this indicate that there is a problem with the screen? I clean it according to instructions and don't ever push against it.

Used to mean the gases inside it needed a shake up, but not sure if the same appplies on the modern flatscreens. There should be an option to do this on one of the buttons on the front of the monitor itself if you work your way through them. Otherwise it might be covered in your manual.

It could be a problem with the connection cable? Try a different one to check. It is more likely a problem with the panel, though, so you will want to notify the manufacturer for warranty service in this case.
