What is your life's greatest adventure, if any? A shark-hunting trip or a week's camping holiday?

Mine was not an adventure at all by your standards, perhaps. Just a solo trip around the island where I live in my small sailing boat, a Hunter Medina 20. But for me it was an adventure and a challenge as well. It took me 9 hours to complete in a force 5/6 south-easterly wind with waves constantly breaking on my bow and hardly the chance to make a cup of tea. I arrived back at my moorings dead tired but satisfied that I had been able to make it.

Around the age of 12, I hiked Mt. Whitney, which at 14,496 feet is the tallest mountain in the continental US. It was one of those trips that pushed me to my absolute limit but my Dad encouraged me to just take it 100 steps at a time, and I did!

Wow, Mummyto3boys. And you were only 12. I do not love heights, so mountain climbing is out for me. I'm not afraid of the sea, but.

And Dom Bobbitt I am married myself and I know what you mean. Marriage IS an adventure and everyone should be determined to make the most of it and make it a successful and satisfying experience.
