What Does Go Green Mean? How to live green? Is green living easy and affordable?

What can you do to live green? What can you do to help the environment and reduce your carbon footprint?

Going green means that you have fallen prey to political correctness.

The ONLY solution to resource depletion and increasing pollution is POPULATION CONTROL AND REDUCTION. That is the fart in the elevator no-one wants to acknowledge.

It is not easy. It takes time.

It is not affordable. I should use a dollar's worth of gasoline to drive a used battery to a disposal station rather than just tossing it in the trash? I don't think so.

Everyone's sh** has to go somewhere. Even if you reduce per-capita sh**, more people will offset that.

I don't give a cr*p about my carbon footprint.

Those that have contributed to the overpopulation problem -- un-named ethnic and religious groups -- should bear the costs and inconveniences.

Get real, all you greenie-weenies.

"Green" as in grass=Earth. So,'going green'is the latest hype in all things. There is "Green Houses and Apartments that offer bamboo flooring and the latest in energy-efficient appliances, heat produced by the latest solar panel technology, and the latest in furnaces and cooling methods; all paying for themselves rather quickly. These houses and apartments are also built with anything BUT wood. "Going Green" can also be referring to anything that helps to produce or eliminate your 'carbon footprint', which you should look up because it's basically the seed of this "Green Movement" and another very interesting topic on it's own. This 'Green' concept is also being used as a marketing technique to the point of being ridiculous, such as cosmetics that are made with recyclable or organic packaging. New detergents, soaps and general cleaning supplies are branching of the health food stores and into your local markets and even the mass market retailers, ex; Wal-Mart! The new hybrid cars are now also referred to as, "Green-Mobiles" as well as electric cars that are still being perfected. You ask nif these things are affordable? In the short-term,no!In the long-term,yes! So,this entire concept is getting played out,..BUT in the end,... it is a very positive thing. ANYTHING that helps us heal this earth and stop the raping and pillaging that goes on everyday by us to our very essence of "home" whether it be by polluting less, using bamboo instead of wood therefore cutting down less trees which in turn saves the rain forest=allowing for species to cont. and medicinal wonders. More trees= more oxygen and -less carbon dioxide, using biodegradable items to lessen the huge amounts of trash and pollution that flows into our oceans and waterways...we even throw garbage into space! Using less fossil fuels, less energy and any non-renewable resources is always a GREAT thing. So even though the "Going green" seems to be every retailers claim to fame (and sales)...(Think: only hippies used to use reusable shopping bags...I know all about this "saving Mother Earth since my birth in 1969 in Woodstock,N.Y...yes,THE Woodstock.)Today you see people in Middle America that never even saw a natural product on their grocery shelves using the reusable shopping bags. Now they are sold in just about every grocery store and even large dept. stores like JC Penny and Target. Even chain drugstores like Walgreens! AND they give you a 5 cent credit for each bag used! I could go on and as one writer to another, you know what I mean. I also will NOT be editing this or I will be on this computer forever,...using up energy. Better to be "Green" and go to bed!

Going Green is just the new acronym of something we should have been doing all along and a lot of us have been. Earth day was started in 1974, population control, pollution, we were talking and doing way back then. My question is when, why did we ever stop and now its become popular again?
