I love public speaking. Where do I start if I want a career in this area?

Look up Toastmasters. They have a program that would help you.

determine what it is exactly you want to speak publicy about then research options as to where you can achieve your goal. If you want to talk to seniors about missing money and how they can search it, go to your local retirement homes and offer to speak for free. Eventually you could charge for speaking if your portfolio was strong enough. If you want to speak about a medical condition, seek areas where there would be opportunity for speaking, schools, universities, college etc. Love sports and want to speak about them? Get out and find where the opportunities are located. Write a proposal and presentation summary overview and hand deliver it to the administration.
