It really comes down to what you wan't to use your blog for? If you're out there to just have a bit of fun with blogging and want to see what it's all about, I would recommend going with the free option to start off with. But, let's face it, who couldn't do with an extra $200 per month to supplement their usual income? If you're in it to make some money, you can't go past setting up a registered domain name.
