Being in a "pristine" condition will increase the value of a comic book. The number of printed copies, how old the comic book is ... all things to be taken in consideration. If you have older Green Lantern comics or Rahan (the French version of Tarzan) I will buy them lol

I have a considerably more simple answer to that question. I don't think any real comic book fan collects books for their monetary value. If so, it's quite frankly a terrible investment that won't ensure any good return.
Rather, the best way to tell if a comic book is valuable is to read it. The better the story and the better the art, the more valuable the comic is, to heck with monetary worth.

The cold, hard truth of the matter is that your question is not relevant. ALL collectibles are ONLY worth what someone is willing to pay for them.

If you want to speak of 'theoretical' value consult something called the Overstreet Comic Book price Guide. Mind you, even if someone decides to BUY your comic book, they will no doubt only pay a percentage of what it is worth in theory.
Buy what you enjoy reading. Speculation in the last decade or two really screwed up the comic book market.
