Not really. Unless the person wants help, most efforts will just go to waste or not be effective.

Sometimes, but it's much easier if they want help. One example is giving a vaccine to a toddler versus an adult - you are forcing the todder to be helped. Someone who has tried to overdose may be helped, despite not wanting help.

Yes. Somtimes a person recognizes that they need help, but their pride won't allow them to accept help.
Ways to help someone who doesn't want to be helped:
1. Pay one of their bills for them anonymously.
2. Perform a chore for them (yardwork, carry out trash) when they're not home.
3. Make it look like they're doing YOU a favor instead of as if it's you that's helping them.

someone once said, "a man convinced against his will, is of the same opinion still" so in other words, NO. It has to be their idea.
Now you can use open ended questions that are non threatening and trick him into THINKING it was his idea
