It's quite simple. I am entitled to enjoy a night out without coming home reeking of smoke. I am also entitled to wear my favourite outfit in the happy knowledge it will not be destroyed by someone else's falling fag-ash. As an asthma sufferer, I use my inhalers much less now I do not have to spend time in smoke-filled rooms. Indoor areas are now safer healthwise for my child. Oh, yes I nearly forgot - my chances of suffering from cancer due to passive smoking have reduced considerably. So the answer is yes, I most certainly CAN justify the smoking ban in public places.
