Children learn from the examples set by the people around them.
We as parents must learn to take responsibility for the actions of our children. They have learn from us.
So to answer the question, lead by example. In my case, Ed knows that to get my attention he must ask polite, he must say please, & he must say thank you. I also say these to him when I want him to do something etc.
as for the people that blame the media, that is a cop out. I find it very easy to just turn the TV off. You can find the button on the side of the set, clearly marked. LOL.
Please note that I say all of this with a little humour & tongue in cheek. I am a single dad of a now 4 year old boy, I need humour in my life.
