How do homeschooling parents know what to teach their children? (i.e. what curriculum to follow for the specific grade level, etc.)

Ms Re says

There are various ways of deciding what to use to teach your kids at home. There are various assessments (i.e. California Achievement Test, D.O.R.A., D.O.M.A., ETC.) offered online and in written form. Many curriculum providers also offer (and usually recommend) placement tests. During this process one must consider the learning style that is most effective for each child, no two being alike. Some children are hands-on learners, whereas others are visual. The multiple intellect theory warrants research when addressing this area of development in homeschool. Ultimately homeschoolers decide what we\they want, go for what may work best, and run with it. Its sometimes a trial and error type of situation, but when we get it...we've got it, and world watch out 'cause here we come. Hope this helps.
