I like to slow cook beef but can't get braising steak or stewing steak here. The more expensive cuts of beef go tough in the oven! What can I do?

I have thrown all kinds of cuts of beef in the slow cooker, including cheap cuts of boneless steaks. I usually buy a family pack of cheapy priced steaks, trim off as much fat as I wish, and throw about three in the slow cooker. When they get tender, i start breaking them apart. Or I get stew meat or cut my own cubes from larger pieces, and cook to make beef tips with gravy. Serve over rice, with rolls or bread of your choice and a veggie and you are done!
