Depending on the state where the dental office is located, it may or may not have to be accredited by the state law provisions for anesthesia delivery in and around the practice of dental medicine. Some states, most states require the dental practice be equipped to handle emergencies when dispensing anesthesia, but most do not currently require accreditation as an overall general statement. We should be pushing for this though, through legislation, education, and more education, the general public needs to know the dangers in office procedures as a whole whether dental or otherwise.
