All you need is bee wax and a thick cotton yarn to use as wick.
The worst case scenario is that you can't find bee wax ready in your hardware store. Well there are several brands of Honey which include a piece of bee wax inside, need to be washed from honey (use lots of water). Then you put the bee wax in a pot and you heat it mildly. The bee wax melts. You baptize the yarn in the melted wax, (in and out) and you leave it aside to cool.
Then you pour the melted bee wax in any porcelain pot (like an espresso coffee pot) and you add the yarn. As the bee wax is cooling it will take the shape of the pot and will hold the yarn in the center, or so. You may use any shape of porcelain to give the shape you like.
After the bee wax is cooled you remove it from the pot with the help of a knife, and you have your home made candle.
Alternatively, instead of bee wax you may use solid paraffin. It looks like a candle without the wick. Usually it is white color.
You buy paraffin from your local hardware store.
You follow the same method as with the bee wax.
In both cases you can add perfume of your choice, while bee wax or paraffin are melted. How much perfume? depends on how intensive the aroma you want.
