I am considering raising chickens next spring. What can you tell me about building a chicken coop, the care and feeding of chickens, and heating the coop during winter?

While you might be considering raising chickens you will want to ensure that you do not have any zoning against them. However, they are a great animal to raise. If you want some great information about the benefits of having a chicken coop you will want to read this hub http://hubpages.com/hub/Build-a-Chicken-Coop-Today here which can help you out.

I know that for the winter the farmer across the street from me puts a bunch of hay in with his chickens. Hope that helps out!

Hi Aya katz,

You need to have a proper plan before you start building a chicken coop.

Here are the things that you must keep in mind.

Plannig the windows before building would help a lot

Are there any Predators in your area? Then you should think of protecting your chicken coop from them too

What source of light you can use in absence of sunlight to keep the chicken coop and the chickens warm?

Ventilation for the chicken coop and many more..

For more information and answers to the above questions vist the hub - http://hubpages.com/hub/backyardchickencoop

It provides some really good info.

Thanks

Joe

Will be raising chickens next spring.

If you want to raise chickens and have a farm to do it then you at least have 1 point on you. The difficulty of raising chickens would depend on how many you want to care for in any given time. The more the... keep reading →

I think Sonoma Chicken Coop Almaden is a best chicken restaurant all over the world.

My Experience: All my friends and family know I'm a die-hard chicken lover. Okay, maybe not that extreme but I've pretty much been in love since I was a kid so I knew this would be the place for me. I've had lunch and late dinners at this place a few times already and I've been pretty content with each visit. I normally order a quarter of the 'roost-tisserie chicken with rooster booster BBQ sauce'. For sides, I've tried the rice and basil pesto pasta. The chicken is succulent and with a squeeze of lemon, it's just pure bliss. It hits the spot every time. My friend ordered the 'skillet chicken carbonara'. I'd definitely pass on that one. It was a bit too salty.

I love places that has both indoor and outdoor seating. It's really nice to just sit outside on those summer nights, eat and watch the cars drive by. I'm not surprised that it's crowded here, I mean, why wouldn't it be?
