I want to plant a winter garden and I live in the desert. Which vegetables will grow best in a dry climate at this time of year?

th indians aways had corn, squash, beans...the best beans and chilies are desert plants anyway :) enjoy!!! try nott o add too much stuff to your soil and dont overwater it...make an irrigation trough through your rows or use containers for gardening...watch out for the rabbits thy and the javelina a sometimes even skunk will eat it up ifyou are IN the desert/if you are in the city you'll be cool

Tomatoes,Peppers,Corn,Cacti,almost anything as long as you water them.,and have good soil mixed with compost and fertilizer.

As long as you protect them if the temperature gets too low, you can plant almost any basic vegetable. A raised garden can be the best because then you are using a better soil than what we have here in the desert.

Winter squash is a nice vegetable to grow here as well.
