When I saw this request I was extremely intrigued. What do I believe about animal freedom for those animals in zoos? I am a frequent zoo visitor, in fact, I visit the zoo so often I should become a tour... keep reading →

We cause damage, animals simply live as nature intended except when we encroach upon their habitat.

It is this idea that we are entitled to 'utilise' everything including other life forms that has lead us so close to destroying this world we call home. Animals are not here to simply take care of us. We need them and should treat them with more respect. They have the right to live without being imprisoned or tortured, as we do. As a species, we need to stop being so narcissistic.

You're asking this question as if you think animals are the same as us. They're not. When a cheetahs cubs get killed, she'll walk around calling for about 3 days and then get on with life without a matter. How long would you be upset if your 2 year old son got murdered today? A zebra stallion will kick and bite his baby daughter to pieces if her mother dies. He does so to protect his herd. Would we do that?

If you were in a zoo in a cage you would probably always think about trying to escape. Just about all animals in zoo's today are capable of escaping from their enclosures,so why don't they?

Because they establish it as their territory, they get fed there and they get looked after there. They don't think like you and me,so they don't need to have the same rights. They are there to enjoy, learn from,to take care of us on this planet and for us to utilise, simple.

Hope this helps

Animals, other than humans, are not citizens of the United States. They do not have the right to freedom of expression supposedly garanteed by the United States constitution. This answer only applies to innate animal rights in a legal sense.

What sexual rights does a wild creature have? Depends on the creature. In many animal societies only the lead female is allowed to raise her offspring or even mate in some cases. Females that breed out of place have the freedom to watch their offspring killed off by the rest of the group.

Animals would be left to the natural order if it weren't for zoos. That natural order leaves little freedoms. Though humans are responsible for much of the suffering afflicting wild animal populations, humans are unique in that we are the only animals who try to offset some of the damage we do.
