If you would like to make your aquarium unique, you could make different objects from plastic beads and thread. I would suggest using a heavy-duty upholstery thread. Anything else would contaminate the water. The objects don't have to be of anything specific, but by threading through the beads several times, you could create even a "ball" of glittery beads.
