Pros and Cons of sex before marriage

I know it is acceptable in our society today to have sex before marriage, but ask yourself just how many men would I have to have sex with before marrying one? If you really believe you're special, then treat yourself special. Why should you give it to every Dick or Harry? Why don't you wait for the one that believes you're special? When he comes along, he would respect the fact that you want to wait until you're married. He won't try to get you into bed before he marries you because he believes you're special and really different because you're standing by your conviction. The choice is yours. Do you think you're special or do you think every Dick and Harry should have what you should reserve for that special man?

The answer to this question would depend on your religious beliefs. It is obvious from many of the answers posted above that there are people who believe that you shouldn't have sex before marriage, period. Well, in reality that is not what goes on in the real world.

When you deal with a moral issue such as this, one persons pro might be another persons con. My opinion is that if you love someone it shouldn't matter whether you are married or not.

I disagree with the notion that you have to be married to someone before you can have sex with them. I'm not promoting being promiscuous and sleeping around just for the sake of it. But marriage should not be the only defining point in your relationship.

Love in my opinion is how you treat the other person, not a certificate that says you are "officially together." Marriage is overrated in my opinion. Why do you think the divorce rate is so high?

Does this mean i don't believe in marriage? No, it just means that marriage should not be the only thing that defines one persons love for another. I know people who have been together for 20 years without marrying, does that mean it is wrong?

I don't think there is a pro sex before marriage. To my opinion, if you live the good life with God in your life, then you will not have any problem keeping your virginity until you get married. The cons of having sex before marriage is pretty simple, you aren't pure before you get married, you may get disease that you probably won't be able to get rid of for the rest of your life even if you have been with that person for a long time. My suggestion is not to even have sex before marriage because that is called fornication in which is a sin in God's eyes. Stay pure and wait for that right person to come along to take it that you really love dearly.

Come on. There are no Pros to sex before marriage. It is merely excess baggage you take into the marriage. Even if the only one you had sex with before marriage is the one you marry, you have given up something reserved for marriage. One of the most important events in your life has been tainted because you just couldn't wait. If you open all your birthday packages before your birthday, what joy do you have on the day of your actual birthday? If you haven't had sex before marriage, you owe it to yourself to wait. You'll be glad you did. If you have, and still aren't married, stop. See just how much your partner loves you now!
