tips for driving in the snow

Don't make any sudden steering movements. No hard braking. Don't accelerate to fast. Leave yourself lots of room. Stay to the right, it might give you the room you need to steer out of a head on. Fresh snow usually allows for more traction than snow that has been driven on and turns to ice. If you have ever driven a sled you know that steering too quickly can be devastating or useless you still will go in the direction you were heading so the trick is slow slow slow. Look down the road as far as you possibly can you will need all the time you can get to slow down and stop. If you can, drive a Subaru or an all wheel drive vehicle. If you drive a front wheel drive vehicle they are good as well on the snow. If you have a pickup you should put weight over your drive tires for traction like sand bags etc.
