Given that a disturbing thought can be conveyed just as plainly in a bland image or series of words, is censorship worth it?

This is a trick question of sorts. Censorship is most often unneccessary. However, limiting the accessibility to something truly offensive to young minds is desirable. But we should all be able to see forthright just how your mind works, so censorship itself is not the answer. Personally, I want to know where the whacko's are so that I may avoid them.
