The best way would have been to create a free blog through Blogger and then apply to Adsense. I've heard it's easier. It is so much easier if you have the account before you even think of joining hub pages.

Yes, What you said is right. Affiliation takes 6 months. The time of easy approval of google adsense has come to an end. All we have to do is regular update and consistent maintenance of the webpage, blog, site or whatever it may be. Then apply for adsense.
But during this period we should not adopt any measure (to gain traffic) that does not comply with the program policy of google adsense.
