I had a dream the other night

I had a dream the other night

It was so real, held my pillow tight

My Dad, he came to visit me

To wish me well

everything will be alright

I had this dream the other night

I remembered how

my teenage years

was absolute hell for him

He looked at me and smiled

I didn't go to art college

it was his only thought

I rebelled and didn't go for him

He looked at me and smiled

My brother he got married

a girl I did not like

I would not heed the sound advice

He looked at me and smiled

I had a dream the other night

My Dad he came to me

Twas in that dream the other night

that ,'Cornishman and True'

He looked at me and smiled.

Twas in this dream the other night

when I held my pillow so tight

I thought of all the things I should

have said , when I could

Twas in this dream the other night.

I think he really did come to you in your dream. And he really did wish you well. And is probably very flattered by this poem. But that's just me.

There is nothing we would trade that hell for, our little hellions give us so well. Over a beer we compare notes. The weak get angry. The strong smile at the irony of their own genes mocking them, knowing it is only fitting and right and all as it should be.

Blimey , everybody I didn't expect this response, thankyou very much.

Guidebaba, the girl in question, we go a long way back, long story, maybe a hub later, speaking now though too late for my dad to see.

Very beautfiul Hawke! It reminded me of my own dad that passed six years ago. When I dream of him, they seem so real.

Don't think it matters how long ago, Darlene, the feelings are as if they passed yesterday. Bet you can remember everything about that day , conversations feelings absolutely everything.

Very nicely done for your first poem. Your Dad is smiling and is comforted. So who or what inspired you to write your first poem. I like it very much, mebbe I will visit you in a dream also and inspire you even to greater heights, if Her Majesty allows it, I will. hehe shhh

Hawkesdream. Hi. What a beautiful dream to have had.

I guess by the smile on his face he is telling you that everything is really fine, and I believe he already knows what you wanted to say and didn't get time to tell him.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading your lovely poem. Thank you for sharing it with us. :) :)
