Breaking Up

“I love you. I will never make you cry.You're my present and my future".These are few of the sweetest promises for people who are in a relationship but the most painful words for people who are on the opposite status. People suffering from heartaches perceive these vows and anything else about love are curse, joke and lies. At this point of our lives, we find Nazareth’s song “Love Hurts” as sympathizing. Even though this is grief-stricken, we find relief as we sing these lines “I know it isn’t true. Love is just a lie made to make you blue. Love hurts. Love hurts."

Indeed, love is painful especially if we have given everything and expected future with them. All the aspects of our lives are affected. We become easily irritated. Our pick of colors changes from bright to dark. Our perspective about make-up and grooming are waste of time.

Certainly, our lives become edgy and gloomy. Some of us think that it’s the end the world and living alone has no sense. Some of us think of terrible ways to skip this misery. Alcohol, cigarettes and other vices are worst solutions for some people.But the most dreadful thing they do is to end their lives. These are awful and absurd remedies.These are not the right and just solutions.

Break up blues for a long period of time is tiring and dangerous. So we have to wake up from our own spell and check ourselves in front of the mirror. How do we look like? Are we older than our age? Do we look like we just lost a game? Off course, we do not want to appear older than our grandparents. And most importantly, we do not want to be defeated by the bitterness of breaking up.

Indeed, loving comes along with pain. There is no perfect relationship in the first place. Relationships have depths to make the bond stronger or weaker until its finally over.

Truly, acceptance of breaking up is easy to tell but hard to do. Below are some tips to remedy our break-up blues and embrace the happiness of being single. After all, loving starts from oneself. Love yourself first!

1. Get a pen and a paper. Write and draw all your heartaches. You can also list down the advantages of being single.

2. Smash, spank and even punch a pillow to manage your anger. In this manner you will not be charged of physical injuries.

3. Meet your friends for chatting and strolling.

4. Do some exercise.

5. Eat healthy diet.

6. Visit a salon for self-pampering and make over.

7. Choose light or colorful dress. Colors reflect one's feeling.

8. Go for a solo trip. Just be safe.

9. Move on, Love yourself and be happy!

Recovering from this heart dilemma is better far from relief but a euphoric feeling of victory. Hence, we do not have to detain ourselves in our past. We have to remember that future is impossible to envision unless we moved on from our history. Let us enjoy and love ourselves!
