Convenient Relationships

What is a convenient relationship and how does it work?

Simply put,a convenient relationship is where both parties don't necessarily want to get emotionally involved but want to reap the benefits of being in a relationship, that is sex and companionship. There are so many reasons to get involved in a convenient relationship like:

  • Career - if you're too focused on advancing your career and don't have the commitment it takes to make a traditional relationship work, then a convenient relationship might be just right for you.
  • Not over your ex - if you're not over the last person you dated but you still crave companionship, you might want to jump into a convenient relationship.
  • You hate being alone but you're not ready to seriously commit to one person exclusively.

Convenient relationships are often referred to as a "friends with benefits" or FWB situation. Both parties are in the relationship for what they can get out of it both physically and companion-wise.There has to be some type of attraction between the parties involved in order for the convenient relationship to work. There is also a usually agreed upon arrangement for example meeting once or twice a week for mutual adult fun.

Its important to note that not everyone is cut out for convenient relationships. If you're the clingy type who falls in love easily, gets hurt easily,is possessive and often gets jealous, this type of arrangement is definitely not for you.But if you think you have the maturity it takes to get into a relationship of convenience, then by all means go ahead and have fun!

Have you ever been in a relationship of convenience?I want to hear all about your experience in the comments section below.
