Women have some unpleasant encounters with their menstrual cycle, which includes breast pain, depression due to irritability and acne. There are only a small percentage of women who loose work due these symptoms.

Now that research shows that men can also deal with similar symptoms doctors are baffled as to what truly causes this problem. Some doctors believe that the symptoms which cause IMS and PMS could be mental, while others believe that it could be psychosocial.

Irritable Male Syndrome

According to recent reports a large sum of men suffer from IMS (Irritable male syndrome.)

Experts claim that the same symptoms which burden women during their premenstrual cycle, also pertain to men, during their IMS phase. Hot flashes, back pain, and irritability are some of the symptoms many men claim to struggle with during their time of the month.

Ranging from, bouts of depression, introverted behavior, and fits of rage, men are searching for ways to keep their agitating symptoms under control.

Just Leave Him Alone

There may be some men who feel withdrawn during their time of month, and unlike Mikey they may prefer to be left alone. If this is the case, find a place of solitude in which you can relax your mind and body.

Don't Bother Her, She's Annoyed Already

For Women, (PMS) may bring on severe irritability, if possible you may want to find a relaxing environment as soon as possible; until you can regain control of your emotions. My advice to stay at home mothers, is to thank God for pain pills and chocolate.

Nonetheless, finding healthy ways to keep your stress level under control is highly recommended. Pilates is a great form of relaxation, and don't forget to drink plenty of warm water or tea, to help prevent extreme cramping.

If you're blessed with a loving family that is fully aware of your (PMS) conditions; out of respect they may give you plenty of space, and time to recover from your symptoms. A clip from the sitcom, 'Roseanne', expresses such concern.

The PMS Diet

Some believe that a good diet is all one needs to control the discomforting symptoms.

I think mood swings definitely have to do with your diet. Like you said, caffeine can have a profound effect on your overall mod.

Emunah, it just always struck that if I am 85% + water and the moon can move the whole ocean -- how silly to think it does not effect me. But women are stronger internally so their clock rules the days.

I definately get IMS or whatever it is.

Your funny Eric. Your articles don't reflect a man that deals with IMS on daily basis. But I think we all get moody sometimes. Thanks for the feedback!
