I Believe in Magic

Love is all you need

I’d like to meet a man

Doesn’t have to have a plan

Just has the urge to be with me

Laughing, loving, dancing, free

-------------------------------------

I’d like to have a man

He’d have to be my biggest fan

Seek me out, make plans with me

Keep me safe, but let me be

--------------------------------------

I’d like my days with a man

He must accept me as I am

And I would do the same for he

Reciprocation is the key

--------------------------------------

I’d like my nights with a man

Wild rock & roll while we can

Heated pleasure, you and me

Joined together, we are free

--------------------------------------

I’d like to say “don’t want a man”

Self sufficient, yes, I am

But need is strong to feel the heat

Another human to be complete

----------------------------------------

So, hope runs high I meet a man

Who shares the same, not a sham

To come together, choosing thee

Life’s best magic enveloping me

Love is Magic

"Amy .. whats you gonna do? I think, I could stay with you ... for a while, maybe longer if I do" ....

Beautiful poem. In fact, as you can see, it made me feel like singing to you!

Jim: Oh....I forgot about that song and I love it. Thank you so much for the reminder. I'm going to YouTube to listen right after getting back to your latest, as I was rudely interrupted after I'd just began to enjoy it. You just managed to remind me about two things I'm going to do next!!! Thanks for stopping, reading and commenting, Jim. I always appreciate your feedback.

I am always so happy to hear from you, BobbiRant. I vacillate between waxing and waning on this "wish" to be honest. Love is grand, but not the experiences of my past. He'd have to be awfully nice.......... Thanks for coming by and commenting. I really do appreciate you.

Big smile and hug back at ya. True...Canada is a long way away. That's were magic comes in. You just never know how, what, or when something magical will happen. It is amazing how, with a smile and an open heart, the world is your oyster. But, you know that!

"Seeking someone with passion who can allow me to be me, be my harbor for my ship in port, be deep rooted like an oak in times of trouble, hunger for me when I'm away." I'm sure that individual is out there, waiting for you like you wait for him. Beautiful hub...

You nailed it, A.A. Especially the oak part...yes, I want someone who can be there through the good and the bad. I think romantic love is an idea...not real. I think the magic is in our imagination. It's a magical illusion. I'm not any good at slight of hand. Thank you for your poetic, inspirational words.

Good thing I'm taken, or I might come to St Louis and you could just 'show me'. Well, you could still come see this drunken poet sometime I reckon. Na. Better not. Merry Christmas, friend Jim sent me. Ahhh Pure Prairie League, knew them back in the day so well. Aimeeee . . .

Awwww, ralwus, thank you for your beautiful comments. What could be better than a drunken poet? Nothin', I reckon. Yes, I love that song and I'm gonna listen to it right now, now that you mention it! Thanks for stopping by and Merry Christmas. I'll thank Jim for the introduction. Enjoy your beverage of choice, or two, for me.

Its been awhile since I've written anything new. I did paint an oil on canvas that I like and I've started another. My plan is to acquire a "point and shoot" digital camera so I can post my paintings. Thanks for visiting me here, Neil. As always, I love seeing you.

....lol lol lol ... a trip down memory lane with this one Amy - if Blly Boy Buc sees this one he'll fall out of his Queen Ann chair - lol lol - man oh man Amy look at all of the hotties here trying to kiss your royal hub feet - Neil, Jim, Colin, Augustine, Ralwus (this must have been pre-Docmo days) lol lol, and yes we all know you have met 'that' man and his name was Mac ....... love watching the evolution of your writing too over the past year .... because your words are more dense, deeper, darker, more probing - but as you are searching here you are still searching now (and not necessarily of course, for the perfect partner, but then again, aren't we all?) yes now you are searching for 'you' - who is your best friend and sometimes worst enemy (I think we can all say that about ourselves) but someone who is always true to her vision, her convictions, her integrity, her pride, her independence, her heart and her mind - long may you run Amy - as Neil Young would sing ..... lake erie time 9:22pm

Oh, Colin, you have me rolling. Yes, I find it almost painful to read some of these antiques. But, we all start somewhere. I am embarrassed at some of my early efforts. But, there are lessons to learn in re-reading them, if I dare! I was such a "greenhorn" in so many ways. Clueless in St. Louis, I'd say. But, that's what I mean when I honestly say that my readers make me better. I see a difference in the comments my work today generates. Hell, I am much more discriminating myself in what I read in the magazines I look at. I can recognize truly great writing now. In the past, if it was published, I thought it had to be good! Live and learn. Thanks for the laughs, Colin. Its healthy to laugh at oneself when its deserved!!! You are a card, Colin, one of those that I keep and treasure forever.
