What is Love?

One of the most used words in our language and yet so many of us really don’t know the full meaning of the word.  I mean we use it so casually in our day to day conversation.  It is a wonderful word and very powerful indeed, so it is not to be used without some impact.  Let share a few suggestions regarding the use of the word “Love”.   First let’s look at the meaning.  The dictionary has no less than 28 different definitions and word uses for love.  My favorite definition is the first one listed, “a profoundly tender, passionate affection for another.”  But does this really capture the essence of this word?  The word can be used as a noun, verb, with an object or without, in idioms and phrases.  Each use will slightly shift the meaning and thus gives us a clue as to why we use it so much.  It is the best four letter word you have ever used!  So, why is it that this word has so much power?

Each word we use is really a combination of vibrational frequencies that connect with us on a soul level.  Some words are so weak, such as cuss words, that they do not reach us at the soul level, but “love” is a word that gets us every time!  It does this because it is who we are; more on this later.  In ancient times our teachers knew the power of words and why.  They knew that when we communicated with spoken words it is really energy that is being shared.  This energy is either positive or negative in its polarity and either weak or strong in its vibrational frequency.  The polarity determines if the word is attractive or repulsive, each has its use.  We use some words to push people away such as the cuss words.  Other words we use to attract people such as compliments.  Whether the word is weak or strong depends on its use as well as the understood meaning of the word.  From this power comes the expression “the pen is mightier than the sword”.  A sword can only cut flesh, but words cut much deeper!  Or at least that is the concept behind that statement.  Our understanding or comprehension of the word meaning has a lot to do with the ultimate impact it makes on our minds, but it does not have any impact on our soul however.  For example, if someone calls you a boob and you have no idea what they mean, your mind can make something up and either get upset or not, but your soul is connected on a deeper level and picks up the intended meaning of the statement, which in this case is usually a harmless insult.  It is important to be aware of your intent when you use a word, is it harmful or harmless?  Often when we are hurt by someone we lash back with harmful words, but the result is only that we hurt ourselves.  This is because what you do to another, you do to yourself.  We are all connected in ways that are hard for the average mind to comprehend.  I simply assume good intent and that covers most every situation.  If they mean to be harmful you will know!  Love is hard to define sometimes so let me share a few poems to get the point across.  A part of you does understand; let go of the other part.

What Is Love?

It is that which is without condition, without limitation, and without need.

Because it is without condition, it requires nothing in order to be expressed. It asks nothing in return. It withdraws nothing in retaliation.

Because it is without limitation, it places no limitation on another. It knows no ending, but goes on forever. It experiences no boundary or barrier.

Because it is without need, it seeks to take nothing not freely given. It seeks to hold nothing not wishing to be held. It seeks to give nothing not joyously welcomed.

And it is free. Love is that which is free, for freedom is the essence of what God is, and love is God, expressed.

Love is - a poem

Love is not exclusive, but Inclusive

Love is not painful, but the Highest JOY

Love is never lost, but exists always

Love is not changing, but constant

Love is not different, but the same at all levels

Love is not wrong, but the answer

Love is Universal!

Love exists regardless of what is happening in your life, in fact

Love exists regardless of your life

Love is something you can share, but cannot prevent another from experiencing, only yourself

Love is the only thing you have more of when you give it away

Love is a feeling, an emotion, an experience, and so much more

Love is a way of life

Love is life itself

Love is an acceptance of all that comes your way

Love is an expression of WHO YOU ARE, who we all are

Dear Sequoia Elisabeth: Love is such a wonderful blessing. I would not want to live without it. I experienced God's love in a great way once when I was trying to save her life. I met God that day, and he gave my mother back her life for a time. God Bless you Dear Heart.
