Traditional Vs Modern Matchmakers

Ever since human being started romancing, there are plenty of people who wanted to do the mediator role of matchmaking. Sometimes they were parents, friends or professional matchmakers, they thought that they know the art of matching people interests better than others and in most of the time, better that the pairs themselves.

Modern matchmakers, more popularly called Online Dating sites have picked up where ancient matchmakers left. However, their motives are quite different than the old matchmakers. A) Their motive is profit and B) Unlike the old mediators who would come to you, single wannabe lovers are flocking to their websites like honey bee.

Why do we trust these dating sites blindly?

Whether we get the love or not, we are just blindly trusting these dating sites blindly. There seems to be two primary reasons which neither traditional matchmakers nor anyone else including your big circle of friends at facebook.com provides:

  1. There are around thousands of singles, both males and females join these website with a single motive to find dates. That's means you have a very good chance of finding some one suitable for you.
  2. Second is that, these sites have an art of convincing you hat they have a scientifically proved ways of finding a perfect match for you depending upon your requirement, likes-dislikes and hobbies. You just agree to what they want you to agree.

So, is there a scintific formula?

There are no two argument about the first point that these sites provide a wider choice. But the question still remains that do these choices leads to a better outcomes? Is there a perfect formula or scientific algorithm which work perfectly and can predict perfect match? Lot of critics think otherwise.

A lots researchers have found that there are no definitive way to finding if an algorithm will perfectly match two people which will then live happily for ever. Apart from that, since its a multimillion dollar industry, none of these dating companies make their algorithm public to be tested by anyone. Most of these formula just match likes and dislikes of two people and then recommend of they match. But its cannot be said with 100% confidence that people who have similar likes an dislikes will live better with people with not so similar likes-dislikes.

Conclusion- Should we join these Dating Websites?

There is no harm in joining these websites. However rather than blindly following their recommendation, make you own opinion. Meeting people with different background and hobbies. Sometime, opposite behaviour attracts more that similar behaviours. Take your time and your instincts to find the perfect soul mates. There is one old saying, listen to everyone, but always do what you think is correct. There is absolutely no formula to love someone for life.

When it comes to online dating, you want to go through a process versus a picture and a profile.
