Mine for a Short Time
Precious have these days been for me
In these moments you were mine
Even if only for a short time
I hurt to let you go
But I knew from the start
I wouldn’t get to keep you
Because you were only to be mine for a short time
Though letting you go threatens to tear me in two
I will never regret the time you were mine
And though our time is nearing its end
I will treasure you till the final second I can no longer call you mine
May these final days be precious
I hope that we draw closer and closer till the last
While you’re still mine and I am still yours
Forever though you will always be in my heart
Even though you will not always be mine
I love you always and will forever cherish the days you were mine
Even though it was only for a short time
