Falling in love is one of the most wonderful experiences but its end can be the most devastating. The pain that comes with losing someone is so unbearable that the hurt seems to manifest physically. Fixing a broken heart is not easy but it can be done.
Don't lose hope, time heals every wound. A host of emotions often comes with a heartbreak, first there is denial, then anger and hate, and eventually acceptance. Everyone undergoes this phases to finally fix that broken heart.

1. Seek out those places where your used to go.
Got a favorite restaurant or hang-out? As much as possible, try to haunt the area by yourself or with your friends. Indeed, during the first few times, it would remind you of those moments and you might get hurt in the process but this is normal. You will soon realize that as you frequent this place, the next few visits will no longer be as painful, and soon enough you will feel much better. It will be a healing process.
Just like crying, you'll get so used to going to that place that you would no longer associate the spot to your ex.
2. Listen to positive love songs.
If you are a girl trying to mend a broken heart, try listening to positive love songs. Those with messages that tell of hope and acceptance. It would help you to become positive and accepting but that this is just a phase that you will eventually get over it. Listening to such songs will motivate you to look forward to a a time when all the pain you are currently experiencing will go.
3. Go out and have fun.
Naturally you would want to wallow in your pain, and this is understandable but don't let it go for a long time. It would do you good if you go out and have fun once in a while. There are a host of activities like engaging yourself in a new hobby, taking a hike, exercising or travelling for a short vacation if your time permits. Making the most out of your time will heal your heart faster.
4. Talk to your ex.
There comes a time when the pain and misery becomes so unbearable for you. How about calling your ex? That is perfectly okay, as long as you don't do it 10x in a day. It does help you get over little by little the process of mending your broken heart. It is perfectly okay and it is a natural part of the process so don't stop yourself in case you have that urge to cal your ex.
5. If you can, start dating.
It may not the time to start a new relationship but there is no harm in going out with other people. You allow yourself to meet new people to help take off your mind from your broken heart. It is perfectly alright. Just do not make the mistake of going steady because you are still on the rebound and it would not be fair to the other person.
