Prince William And Kate Middleton's Marriage
It seems as though I always knew Wills. Like we were joined at the hip or something. My grandmother was one of those who knew everything there was to know about the Royals and she would make certain that I knew as much as she did. There were always copies of Hello! and OK magazines lying around the house with the splashy headlines and the pictures of Prince William and Prince Harry. As I grew older so did he. He had a younger sibling as did I and for some reason his life intrigued me.
Then there was the news about his mother Diana, and all I could think of was 'How is Wills taking this?' I couldn't imagine his distress. I was not certain who would be there to comfort him. But he survived, I think, because of his brother. I think that they got closer and forged a bond that few siblings had. But of course, this is just my speculation.
As William grew older, he seemed to get more and more
dashing. He was a real prince - still is except for the thinning hair
thing going on. He went to study Art History and I thought to myself 'Go
on! How did he know I loved Art History and planned to study it as
well!' That is where he met Kate Middleton, and when I first heard of
their romance, I waited to see a pic of her to satisfy curiosity and
maybe feel a bit better if she was uglier than me, or had a lazy eye. She
wasn't. She was pretty and calm and didn't seem to have a ditzy bone in
her body. In short I liked her. She continued to feature as part of
William's life and then came the announcement of the engagement. Prince
William to be married. It really did not hit me until around last week
when I said to myself, 'Wait a minute, he is really going through with
this!' Ha! I laugh at my madness sometimes. But I never really thought
that Prince William would get married before I did. I know that is a bit
crazy but I sort of thought he would become King first!
So there is buzzing and chatting and whisperings going on about the wedding. What dress will Kate wear, what about the vows etc. Of course there is the Lifetime movie and all the talk about whether or not it was right of William to give Kate his mother's ring. All that drama is to be expected as it is not everyday a prince, and a prince of good reputation at that, gets married. I hope that the day will be truly special for the both of them but most of all I hope that William and Kate truly take their vows to heart and honor and cherish each other all the days of their lives. If they do this then they will be truly happy.
