Sometimes Dreams, They Do Come True
To my sister Cheri, and her new fairytale beginning!
A child’s first step comes with no worry
That time in life there is no hurry
The toddler plays with much excitement
Each day is filled with pure enlightenment
The early years are so carefree
Life’s only must is simply “Be”
As time goes by and she turns eighteen
Some days’ harsh truths make life seem mean
Fun then becomes responsibility
She learns about accountability
The happy-go-lucky child who was once there
Now becomes anxious and full of despair
Reality sets in with tough paths to cross
As an adult, she begins to deal with loss
Behind the struggles and heavy soul searching
Come brand new days, each much like fresh spring
After all of life’s lessons and all she’s been through
She finds that sometimes dreams, they do come true!
