The Prince of Dixie

Gentlemen come from all over. This hub is about those who hail from the south.

He's the handsome Prince of Dixie

a sultan of the south

a drawl like thick molasses

tumbles from his mouth

born among the mighty oaks

and pine trees tall and proud

he always minds his manners

is rarely bold or loud

He knows the ten commandments

He also knows Jim Beam

and for some doe eyed southern girl

his eye contains a gleam

you may find his manner easy

but there is this to tell

if provoked sufficiently

he's known to fight like hell

he'll always kiss his mama

and call his father sir

and though he wouldn't speak of it

he longs for things that were

he'll march bodly toward the future

but won't forget his past

because a southern gentleman

is made of things that last

and if the world were perfect

though that will not be true

all men would be a Dixie prince

not just a chosen few.
