Top 7 Jamaican Wedding Resorts
Your wedding and honeymoon represent the most meaningful time of your life and relationship so far. The last you want is to save your money, book a vacation or resort, and end up disappointed.
If you are looking for a Jamaican Wedding or Honeymoon, consider these seven top resorts for your perfect dream vacation. They are in no particular order as each resort has something different to offer based on your individual needs and tastes.
When you are looking at beaches in Jamaica, resorts are typically located in Negril, Montego Bay, Ocho Rios, and Port Antonio.
1. Couples Tower Isle
This resort is located on the Ocho Rios beach in Jamaica and used to actually be called "Couples Ocho Rios". They are currently in the process of completing a $25 million renovation that is slated to be finished by March of 2009.
This resort features 226 comfortable rooms, all with flat screen televisions and most with a breathtaking ocean view. It is also an all-inclusive resort, which is a wonderful option for your wedding and honeymoon. Basically that just means that once you've paid, you've paid! You won't have to pay extra for food, drinks, beach time, pool, the gym, and games.
The beach here is a little bit more secluded than the beaches of Negril, but if you are looking for more of a social atmosphere, Couples also has a larger resort in Negril. The Negril resort features a swim-up bar, artistic décor, and a laid-back atmosphere.
Something else to think about is that Couples tends to be a little bit cheaper than some of the other all-inclusives, but you still have the same great time and amazing views!
2. Moon Dance Cliffs
Moon Dance Cliffs is a recently opened Boutique hotel in Negril that features 18 ocean view rooms, 4 exquisite suites and 4 large private villas. The villas range from 1 bedroom to 5 bedrooms, so if you are wanting a destination wedding with plenty of options for your friends and family, this is a wonderful choice!
This resort has a full service spa, ready to make your honeymoon as relaxing and romantic as it can be. One of the best things is that the private rooms are huge! They have about 480 sq feet plus a private veranda for each room, and every room has a direct view of the Caribbean. The rooms also have king beds, flat screen tv's, and are poolside. If you want to spend a little extra money, you can have a larger room with a private jacuzzi on the veranda.
One of my favorite features is their complimentary Moon Dance Wedding package either on the beach or in their gorgeous wedding garden. After the wedding, enjoy the resorts' two full restaurants, poolside food service, live music, and health club.
3. Breezes Montego Bay
If you are looking for a little less privacy and a little more party, Breezes Montego Bay is a top option. This is another all-inclusive resort that is located on Montego Bay's "Hip Strip", as well as one of its most famous beaches, Doctor's Cave Beach.
This particular resort was recently given a makeover, furnishing the guest rooms and suites with luxurious mahogany furniture and comfortable new linens for the beds (plus much more!) Spend time on their famous rooftop Jacuzzi, enjoying the amazing view of the bay.
There are plenty of activities to enjoy like snorkeling, windsurfing, a fitness club, volleyball, and more. Several on-site restaurants give lots of yummy dining options as well. Enjoy the local atmosphere and really experience a taste of Jamaica at this great location.
They are experienced in beach weddings and the staff there is known for catering to your wedding needs with care and special attention. This resort welcomes families, couples and children 14 and up as well, so it is a fun choice for larger weddings.
4. Rose Hall Resort and Spa
This resort is located on the site of an 18th century sugar plantation, and is in Montego Bay. It is nestled between the scenic Jamaican Mountains and the beautiful Caribbean ocean. If you are looking for a large private beach that is still close to the action of Montego Bay, take a closer look at this beautiful plantation hotel by Hilton Hotels.
The best of both worlds, this resort is private, but also only 15 miles from Montego Bay. You can choose to stay on the 400 acre historic plantation and enjoy the championship golf course or the relaxing services of the spa, or you can take a short ride to the sizzling nightlife of "MoBay".
Another unique feature of this resort is the Sugar Mill Falls Water Park, which is great fun for the family if you are planning a wedding with lots of guests.
They offer lots of different locations for your Caribbean wedding, from private beach settings, to poolside, and even among beautiful ruins of the old plantation. They also have breathtaking indoor and outdoor locations for your reception.
5. Sandals Negril
Sandals resorts are all-inclusive and known for their couples-only atmosphere and luxurious accommodations. There are actually several different Sandals locations in Jamaica, but my personal favorite is Sandals Negril. Lush gardens, breathtaking beaches, and great food are some of the highlights here.
This 5 star Diamond resort location features Swim-up River Suites, 2-story loft suites, and other very romantic accommodations. Every room is just steps from the beach, and certain suites can also take advantage of perks like 24 hour room servic and concierge service.
One of the best things about Sandals is that even though you might have a room booked at the Negril, location, you still have full priveleges at the other Jamaican locations for no extra cost, allowing you to make the most of your Caribbean vacation. Of course, the Negril location has six different restaurants, so you don't have to go anywhere to have the time of your life.
Take advantage of the complimentary Sandals WeddingMoon and get married right on the beautiful white sand beach or in their lush gardens. A personal wedding coordinator will work with you to plan a personalized ceremony for your special day.
6. Grand Lido Braco Resort and Spa
The Grand Lido Negril Resort and Spa is a picture perfect resort that commands an impressive stretch of Negril's beautiful beaches. This award winning resort has everything you need, from a spa to activities such as SCUBA diving, to 22 acres of amazing gardens.
The resort has six restaurants, each offering a different cuisine. You can also order from your room 24 hours a day. At night, there is a piano bar and a dance club if you are in the party mood, or just enjoy your beautiful room or suite.
For your wedding plans, they are very flexible on scheduling the perfect day and time for you. If you are hoping to bring friends and family along, keep in mind that guests have to be at least 16 years old. This is truly one of the most beautiful resorts in Jamaica and they have been awarded for their personal staff and luxurious rooms.
7. Hedonism III
I had to include this infamous resort in my list of top 7. This is the resort for couples who are looking for something a little bit different than your average wedding/honeymoon experience. The resort is adult-only and is focused on fun and relaxation. Here you can let go and just be yourself.
There are several Hedonism Resorts in Jamaica, but III is one of the most beautiful. It is located in Runaway Bay which is a private and exotic location. They have lots of options for couples designed to spice up the romance. You can even get rooms with mirrors on the ceilings.
Meals, drinks, activities and entertainment are all included at this unconventional resort. They also offer kayaking, windsurfing, and have a glass bottom Jacuzzi. This is definitely the resort for you if you are looking for something fun and beautiful, but different from the run of the mill resorts in Jamaica. It has all of the same bonus features, but provides that extra sexy and fun atmosphere.
If you have stayed at one of these resorts, or one that you loved that isn't on this list, please comment below to let others know what you think! Thank you so much for reading, and have an amazing time on your honeymoon in Jamaica!
