How important are looks to you?
Obviously being attracted to someone is important for a relationship but how important are the details? Does your partner have to have a certain hair color? Height? weight? What are your thoughts?
I think someone's personality will make them more attractive to me than anything. If you have a personality that I am attracted to, I will find you cuter than say someone with a 6 pack abs who is self-absorbed or just a jerk.
I have a lot of preferences as to my 'perfect' but everyone's is going to vary obviously. I think throughout life we change and accept different preferences if the person has brown hair but the the best attitude in the world I would much rather have her than blonde hair blue eyed barbie @#$%^. If you get my point but my preferences are red heads, same if not shorter than myself, weight is of no importance as long as she keeps herself looking good. I have known woman in there 160s looking very good. Also seen woman in there 120s looking very gross. So weight is of no importance I feel but if you were to replace it with hygiene it would be of great importance to us guys. You always want a girl that brushes her teeth, showers, and shaves. Even if she is the most gorgeous girl in the world no one is going to want to be with her if she smells and has a mustache
Great question. I suppose that as a man I do have a "type" that I think I am attracted to, but the bottom line is that if I meet someone, and we have common values, beliefs, hobbies/activities, and there is chemistry between us, then my "type" kind of goes out the window.
They are very important to me, because I always want to lok my best for my husband and family and myself.
She doesn't have to be a "10" but I must be physically attracted to a woman in order to approach her for the purpose of dating.
Personally I'm not attracted over-weight women but there are some men who are.
As for hair most colors are fine. (I'm not a big fan of gray, or wild colors like Orange, Blue, Green...etc). As for height I would not date or get involved with someone who towers over me! lol
Tattos are also not my cup of tea either.
I'm certain I would not be on a lot of women's most have list myself!
Everyone is entitled to have their own prefereces!
Having said all of the above I don't think one can generalize what men or women are attracted to. One trip to any mall, movie theatre, park, or beach....etc And (you'll see just about every type of person with someone). I guess it's true what they say, "There's someone for everyone".
Though looks are important, the number one factor that I look at in a partner is her personality! Her personality has to fit within a certain framework (where spillage is allowed but only so much). If the personality is a miss, there is no need for me to go any further. It's just not going to happen. But, if the personality is a hit, I then focus on her looks. I check out the following ... her smell, her touch, then her other body parts including her height and body shape. In all cases, I have a range of acceptable parameters. So I do NOT have just one cast that a woman must fit into before I date her.
Very important, but here's the caveat, if there is not a personality behind those looks, then see you later alligator, don't forget to write.
actually , looks are quite important to me. i won't date a barbie but at the same time i won't date a woman who is really out of shape.too skinny or too big and i will honestly say, personality is irrelevant.that's why i fell for my wife the first time i met her, she was as cliche as it may sound, perfect.to make it even better, our personalities went together .
My own: Very (even if my appearance doesn't measure up to what I'd prefer)
A Romantic Partner's/Husband: Only to the point that I'd need to find the person attractive to me. (So at least somewhat important, certainly not one of the most important in a lot of ways)
Anyone else's: I just don't pay attention to, or care about.
Hmm not really. As long as I find her physically attractive then I'm all good.
Yet for relationships personality is really the most important thing. If you can't stand the person for more than a few minutes, what good does it do?
It depends on your age, at least in my opinion. The older you get the less you care about looks and the more you care about the person's other attributes.

On one side of the coin looks are important, I firmly believe you have to be attracted to your partner sexually, but at the same time I find an intelligent woman to be very sexy indeed.

Whats the most important thing a woman sees attractive in a man, is it always to do with the visual. What's the first thing a woman looks for in a man?-Is it money, large bi-ceps,big ego,or a sense of humour, and interesting to talk to, a nice smile, caring?

When dating do you believe there is real difference between being shallow and having preferences? If a man refuses to date women who are overweight and a woman refuses to date men who are shorter than her would you consider them to be shallow? or Would you view it as having specific preferences?...

Do you get angry if your boyfriend/spouse looks at other women?Assuming he doesn't do it in front of you, is looking harmless? Would you want him to be honest about it if he does or keep it to himself?
