Oh dear..the best thing? There are too many to enumerate and they are all important, to me anyway....so I would just say "I love you.."...as the answer to your question.

The best thing my husband ever said to me after I love you, was "I can't be your boyfriend anymore... I have to be your husband." Needless to say he scared me with the first part!

The best thing my girl-friend told me is: " Don't marry a man who looks more better than you. He'll definitely start looking at more beautiful girls that may hurt you in the long run."

"Everything isn't always your fault." I''m not going to get into the details and history behind it. But, it meant  a lot to me at the time.

It was a silent message of "I love you" by two red roses when I was sick and unable to see him.  It showed me how much he cares for me!

The best thing a boy-friend said to me was: " You are a wonderful person and you are very smart and creative and talented. I am amazed at all you do. You are a very special lady you are kind and giving and thoughful . I wish I had a mother like you . I want the mother of my children to be like you. I want my children to have you as their mother and I want you to be my wife."

this married friend faithful to his wife, also my friend, said "I'm going to look you up after we're dead." thought that was sweet.

"I love spending time with you.." right before our highschool homecoming, we went to the park and once we were done he said that to me:)

When were in line for college advising he told her "as long as we get to go together" he had the cutest smile on his face smile

"I'm just glad we have eachother:) and that no one and nothing can tear us apart"

We have been through some rough times but we will always be together and in love:)

An ex-girlfriend said to me once that I have a way with words, I found that more complimentary than any romantic phrase, I think it was more how she said it rather than what she said...

We were in the Pret a Manger queue for airport food:
Me: Oooh they've made Leek and Potato Soup. I made that for us yesterday. It won't be as good as mine.
Him: No it definitely won't be as good as yours.
Me: I am pleased you said that so convincingly and with conviction.
Man in queue: (Laughing suddenly and hard) That was the right answer.
Him: There's only one right answer.

I love him because he will never run me down xx

The best thing that my boyfriend always said to me is that he want to be my friend in his whole life because according to him no one can understand a person more then a friend. I am happy that he is my friend before being my boyfriend.

I have a hard time with Valentine's Day because it carries a lot of bad memories. So an ex a few years back gave me a card on February 13th that read: "I know you don't like February 14th, but I'll celebrate Valentine's Day with you every day." Our romantic relationship didn't work out, but I knew I had to keep him in my life as a friend because people who care that much are few and far between. 6 years later, we are still friends and still talk about that one card, our only real Valentine's together.

He laughs at my jokes . . . that's better than anything he says.

Although once when our teenage son said something disrespectful to me at the dinner table, before I could say a word, he told him never to speak to his wife that way again.  Never loved my husband more.

my hubby told me that I am his best friend, and no one knows him as well as me. he also told me i was his soul mate and that he was glad we ended up together because we make the best team. It's the little things like that, which make my heart melt because I know he means them, rather than some large flowery production.

Not so much what my husband said...but what he did!  We met 2004 in Maryland.  He walked over 1500 miles to see what would happen between us.  2011 we married!

My boyfriend (nextweek, my husband) told me this yesterday. We were researching for scriptures for our vows and he said that he remembered that i told him a line on Corinthians about what Love is. I said " Oh my, that was a long long time ago, you remembered that one? "

"What you say to me leaves an impression.  I really do care deeply about you." He replied
