More than ever! But I suppose it matters how you define the purposes, cultural meanings, benefits, reasons, etc. When you say 'institution', it takes in a large interpretation from the legal to the religious to the spiritual to societal.
If people would quit looking for their lust mate and look for their soul mate, it would be more relevant. I am very much married and have been for 26 years. I know quite a few others that feel the same way. Marriage should not be looked at from the point of view of 'If it doesn't work, we can just get divorced'. It should be looked at from the point of view of 'I cannot live without this person in my life forever'. A soul connection is the only way to have a true marriage and those cannot be made with divorce in mind.

This may sound absurd to anyone who is carnally minded, but if i am given the benefit of the doubt i want to believe that same sex marriage is antithetical to what marriage stand for any way you look at it. Argument in support of it might logically be very sound because a lot of people have devoted...

Would an anecdotal history of a grandparent be relevant to our children today? Not a nostalgia trip, but social details: how a grandmother lived as a young girl - manners, entertainment, home life, friendships, education and aspirations, holidays. Telling a story which shows life parallels with...
