We may need to make clear first about the word "confident" here. Obviously, it is a noun here, then it does not refer to the meaning of "confidence", but a very close friend or even a lover who knows you maybe more than you know yourself. Am I right?
In all my life, I look forward to such a person, but it is just a mirage, just staying in the imagination. Sad! For my knowledge, a confident means a refuge harbor, in which I would feel absolutely safe and comfortable, even it is so simple and plain.
In the case that the questioner made mistake, i.e. it refers to "confidence", not a people, "confidence" means to me that people feel satisfied with what they have, including tangible and intangible, material and spiritual, interior and exterior. True confidence is based on the true knowledge about self, but doesn't mean absolute and blind belief in self. True confidence greatly contributes to beauty and success.
