They are actually my best fans.

They know clearly what I need and very supportive in things I do. So, they are always there for me. It's great to have friends and family with me.

No I don't think they are.. It may seem that way sometimes. But I know that those closest to me only wish the best for me. They are scared that I will get hurt, they try to protect me. The hard truth can be hard, but it's mostly for the best.

Mine are, because they don't really read any of my stuff!  My mum is really the only one who reads my work.  I ask the rest to, but they're not really interested, and absolutely never give any proper criticism - probably because they're used to me not-quite-achieving throughout my life, so I can't blame them.  It's a bit sad though, because, in writing, I have found the thing that I'm really good at.  Ah well.  I'm sure they'll read my book if it ever gets finished and published.  Then they'll probably be my biggest fans.

I would not say they are usually one's worst fans. Naturally there are "Dream Killers", "Doubters" and "Naysayers" around all of us. It's important to remember that life is a personal journey. Each peron should pursue his or her dreams/goals whether or not their friends or family shares their vision of what can be.
Sometimes if a person can't envision something for themselves they can't believe someone they (know or are related to) could ever accomplish much either. Lots of books on this subject suggest keeping your dreams to yourself or only sharing them with "like minded" people. "It's YOUR life! Take the wheel!"

Yes and no, depending on who the relatives and friends are. If you have positive and encouraging people around you, then its cool. If you have those that are forever critical and not give you a break, it can be unnerving. It's up to the person as to whom they have in their circle.

I don't know if they'd be our worst fans but they are sometimes the ones that bend the truth enough to spare our feelings.  I just hope my family and friends are honest if I ever decide to go on American Idol. lol

I like some of the others have told family members but I just think some people aren't interested and have a hard time trying  to act like they are. To be honest, my family members don't always share what they are involved in and unless they decide to tell me. I'd rather someone not follow what I do than pretend to enjoy it.

My brother, a cousin and myself are all that's really left of our family and we're each very supportive of each other -- nearly to a fault. As to non-family, including friends -- well, that seems to depend on their own self image. If they are not satisfied with who they are, their accomplishments and their place in the world -- they aren't supportive of anyone else. If they've experienced unhappiness or discouragement in their lives, and haven't been able to get past it, then they're too self-centered to be interested in anything anyone else does. Then there's the big hearted, help-you-anyway-I-can folks who may not even understand what you do but if you're happy with it then they'll be a support system forever -- and those are the true friends/fans and outshine all the others. Thank heaven we all have a few of those in our lives!

My answer is yes. Probably because they are our family, closest to us... and regardless of what, they will always be there to cheer for us, to do everything not to hurt us, to protect our pride, to boost our egos, to be there for us and so on. Worst or not, family and perhaps a few true friends are always our number one fans, in my opinion. Friends and others may come and go, but family will always be there, that's precisely the reason why. Thanks to God.

I wouldn’t family and friends are my worst fans – more like more critical fans. They know me as a person, athlete or performer better than others. They know that my weakness and strengths and they also know the reasons for my lack of performance (if any).

Among your fans you will also find family will always support you, and some like to go beyond the normal cheering which can become an embarrassment. A word of advice – accept whatever your family fans, especially your parents, throw at you with a happy heart because they might be there tomorrow.

So because they know me so well, it’s hard to hide from them. As I said, I wouldn’t say they were my worst fans.

absolutely, they never deliver the criticism my writing requires and merely say "yeah that was really nice" lol no way they are actually reading what I write about. I've learned to steer clear of family and friends with my writing and focus more on presenting it to the right niche groups.

Maybe family could be your worst fans but does it really matter.  How are you ever going to be successful thinking about something so aweful!  Who thinks about who isn't standing by you or supporting you.  If you are focused and desire to be successful even if it is something simple, you will always have those that are needed in your corner.  I mean to even think that family or someone you consider close is really against you has to suck!  Personally I have no interest in being around "nay sayers" and "dream killers".  At some point (even though I'm not "scared" of rodents or spiders) I'll behave the same way towards them as someone who is scared of rodents  and spiders will behave.
